Thom "Riff" Taylor, President Washington Grand Chapter

Riff's Last Rag

Brother Sons,

This will be my last rag, after two years as President the time has come to pass the torch.  It has been my pleasure and privilege to serve, thank you all for the opportunity.

We have a new Washington Chapter, the Ritual Riders.  Welcome Brothers!

Lots of stuff happening in July and August.  We have the Thundering Angels Triple XXX party in Issaquah July 18th, and the Sun and Surf Run at Ocean Shores on July 22nd through the weekend.  I'm off that Friday and may go up Thursday.  August 21 & 22 is the AMCA show and swap in Tenino, I'd like to go up and camp, stay for both days.

Ride hard, ride safe, just ride!

Hello Sons,

Our riding season has officially begun, and we have two new members this month.  Welcome, Chris Saint Germain and Rick Berch!  Haggis and I took a ride with Leigh Cahill yesterday, went out to Parkdale Oregon, really blasted the twisties and got that out of our system.  Now we're ready for a club tour.  Two events I'll be putting on our calender are the Thundering Angels 4th Annual Burgers Bikes and Babes Rally, July 18th at Issaquah.  We went last year, good ride and good times.  Check our photos and you'll see!  Also in August is the Antique Show and Swap in Tenino, I'll report more on this as information comes in.  Kim and I went last year, it was a good ride and a real treat to see all the old bikes, some of which you've probably never seen.  Pix of this are also posted in our photo section.  Also, August our annual dues are due, and it will be election time.

Widow's Sons North/South Rally, July 23rd and 24th.

We'll be riding out to Montana for the Rally, look for us there!  You can find more information on our calendar and our calendar of events.  Looking forward to finally meeting up with those of you we only know through the internet!

Mo' Rag, 1/18 2010

Here we are in a brand new year, glad to hear you all made it.

Our chapter is growing, and the feedback I'm getting from across the country is that most chapters are.  Great news eh.

The third annual Widow's Sons North/South Rally is coming up, in Laurel Montana, July 23 and 24th.  I'm planning to attend, hopefully we can get up a good contingency representing the Northwest and British Columbia.

We are planning a Widow's Sons "Ride-in" on August 21st.  No judging or prizes, just a chance to show off your ride and enjoy some beer and bar-be-cue with your Brothers.  More info on our Calender of Events.

If you're a Mason, and particularly a Widow's Son, I encourage you to get on Facebook.  We are putting this to work as a communication tool for our Association, many chapters have their own page where you can find out what's happening all over the country.

Our meetings lately have been indoors, but I'm looking forward to being able to get back to our regular format, which is ride, stop for refreshments and light libations, call to order, take care of business, adjourn and ride some more!  Hope to see you soon on the asphalt ribbon.

Message from the Prez 2009-2010

Hello Sons.  We've had our elections for 2009-2010, I'll be your President for another year.  The four principle officers are staying in their positions for another year, we will strive to continue to do good work for the Association.  We have adopted the Fallen Rider Fund as our principle charity, and we're planning a first "Show and Shine" which hopefully will become an annual event.  Let's make this year another success, I'm looking forward to another good year!  Ride towards the Light!

Message from the Prez 2008-2009

Welcome Sons.  We are nearing the end of our first year as the Widow's Sons Grand Chapter of Washington.  We've seen our membership steadily climb, with Brethren showing a growing interest in joining .  We've had some good rides, good times, with more to come, and met some good people and Brethren along the way.  It is my pleasure to serve the association, and "my door is always open", so to speak, if anyone has any ideas or suggestions.  Ride hard, ride to raise!

Brother Speed

I have sent our condolences to Brother Speed in regards to the accident on I-5 on 9/18/2009.  I hope that those injured will make a speedy and full recovery, and that any bikes damaged will be back on the road soon.
